‘Hurry up taxi, the heat is ruining my hair…’
I’d like to raise a query with the RTA about the availability of taxis on Fridays.
For many weeks now I’ve experienced the horrendous situation of having to wait a long time for a taxi to take me to brunch on a Friday. I live in a beautiful apartment on Emaar Boulevard, a place I chose as it’s so central and close to all the local amenities. I have no problem getting taxis any other day of the week but the day when I take hours to get ready and often have a hairdresser come round to style my hair, I just can’t seem to get one, meaning I have to wait around in my expensive dress with make-up melting on my face which really is not good for my skin.
Being lucky enough to have age on my side and having good genes, I still manage to arrive at brunch looking good (always receiving compliments as well!) but I do feel sorry for people who do have their appearance destroyed in the midday heat and wonder if there could be a priority service for people who made the effort to get somewhere on time.

“Wow, you seem to be the typical female who sanders around the brunches in your over the top makeup thinking you are somewhat special, followed by continuous Facebook status updates going on about all the champagne you are consuming......
You my dear need to wind your neck in, you are mutton dressed as lamb...
Not only are you single handedly the most pathetic person to ever grace the pages of the 7days letters, but I think you need a reality check as to whom you are as a person.....which by the view on your letter and the opinions you portrayed, are seem to be a self centered pathetic spoilt common lass trying to be accepted in a fake friday scenario....
grow up!”

“Is this woman for real or is she having laugh ?
Yes we all have to wait ages for a taxi to get to brunch, such is life. If she can afford to have the hairdresser come and do her hair at home, then surely she can afford to get a private car company to come and collect her and get her to her brunch. Surely her expensive dress deserves that !!
As for your makeup melting on your skin and it not being good for your face, do you think all the alcohol you consume is great for your skin ?? Age will not always be on your side, so enjoy your compliments while you can. I honestly hope you posted this message was tongue in cheek, otherwise what a shallow person you are !!”

“Maybe they should give priority to people based on their genes and looks. If it was based on IQ, I'm afraid you may be at the bottom of the list (right with the air hose prank guy)!!!”

“Mrs De'Souza, you really need to get your hairdresser an hour or so earlier to enable you to catch an earlier taxi. Better still, why don't you get Errol to drop you off at your function.”

“This must be a satire , people like this do actually exist....if you do... and human kind is doomed if people like you do continue to reproduce ..... how about you call and book a taxi... using that little thing called a mobile phone.. you know the one you pester people with in the lift with pinging bbms about what the girl next to you is wearing... it does make calls... it really does... try it”
