‘Stop stapling bags and stop violence in malls’

I would like to know exactly what the security guards in Dubai’s malls are getting paid for.

Last night I stood in dismay and disgust as I witnessed a man violently throw his car keys at a young girl, who I assume was his daughter, as she entered the ladies toilets.

When she emerged a few moments later - in tears and shaking and accompanied by her mother who was also crying - the coward of a man began hitting and shouting at them, before kicking a shopping bag across the floor and storming into the car park.

When I went over to help, the petrified mother and daughter assured me they were OK. I beg to differ.

There was not a security guard to be seen during this dreadful incident. No doubt this was because they were all standing at the entrance to the supermarket stapling shoppers’ bags while this terrified young girl and her mother endured this dreadful abuse.

I only hope that the incident was caught on CCTV and that the authorities will catch and deal with this man in the way he deserves.
