Dear concerned do owner (July 26), I think your dogs should definitely be inside at night.

It’s cruel to leave them out in this heat. When you take on the responsibility of an animal you should treat them as part of the family.

You wouldn’t leave your children out at night would you! They are pets not working dogs!

It’s cool to keep your dogs inside at night

Dear concerned dog owner ‘In the doghouse over where pets are kept’ (Letters, July 26), I work with working dogs that come from England but are now working out in Afghanistan.

Let me tell all the owners out here in the UAE, if you have a dog over here you need to be very careful.

The heat here is extreme and the dogs can die from being too hot. The temperature for all pets need to be kept cool. Especially home pets.

Going back to working dogs in Afghanistan, we only work the dogs 20 minutes or less if the weather is very hot.

It will come down to 10 mins and than back into the controlled A/C room.

I hope this answers the question - all pets need to be treated the same as humans in these temperatutes - keep them cool.
