Accidents on Sheikh Zayed Road, Etihad Road disrupt early morning commute
Multiple accidents were reported early on Sunday morning on both Sheikh Zayed Road and Etihad Road.
An accident on SZR, Dubai bound, caused tailbacks near interchange five, with people tweeting about the jam.
It was the second incident reported this morning. A vehicle also caught fire in a separate incident, which was reported to have taken place on Etihad Road.

A car caught fire due to an accident on Etihad Road in the direction of Dubai.
Dubai Police tweeted a confirmation saying, “A vehicle caught fire due to an accident on Etihad Road in the direction of Dubai at 7.25am. Please drive safely and carefully.”
Pasersby took to Twitter to inform people of the accidents and to warn them about finding alternative routes.
Hussein Wehbe wrote, “Massive Traffic on #SZR from Marina Mall till after Ibn Batuta mall due to accident, Avoid if on a hurry to punch ur attendance system…”
A Co-host on The One Breakfast show on Radio 1 tweeted that, “#traffic Car on fire on Etihad Rd, #Dubai bound, right before Al Mulla Plaza @DxbShjTraffic @itsdubaitraffic”
