Accor has linked up with Msheireb Hospitality to develop a new modern boutique hotel in Doha.

The hotel will be the first of its kind in Qatar and will boast 215 rooms as well as an exclusive spa, an outdoor pool and several cafes and restaurants.

It is thought that the hotel could be up and running as soon as 2015, with the design stage already underway and progressing fast.

Commenting on the hotel, Abdul Aziz Al Emadi, chief executive officer of Msheireb Hospitality, said: “We are very pleased to partner with Accor, the world’s leading hotel operator and market leader in Europe. Accor also shares our passion in creating a new hub in this part of the city, which integrates the best elements of Doha’s historical heritage with innovative facilities.”

The hotel will be located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project.

Earlier this year, Accor Middle East said that it plans to open around 23 hotels across the region in the next three years.
