An air hostess has told how her screams were masked by blaring music as she was sexually molested ın the back of a car.

A Lebanese engineer went on trial today for sexually molesting the Japanese flight attendant.

A Syrian man who was allegedly driving the car also appeared before Dubai Court of First Instance for assisting him.

According to official records the 23-year-old Japanese woman was dressed her work uniform and waiting for a cab at around 1.30am in December.

She said:"I was waiting for a taxi when a car stopped. The Lebanese man asked me if I wanted a lift to the airport. I refused. He stepped out the car and put my bag in the vehicle and told me to get in so I did.”

She continued:“There was also a Syrian man ın the car. We stopped at a traffic signal and they switched places. The Syrian man started driving the car.”

She said the Lebanese man then climbed into the back seat and started touching her.

“He tried to kiss me and take off my clothes. I was resisting and yelling for help but the driver turned up the music so no one could hear me,”she added.

She claims he kept molesting her until they got to the airport and then asked her to pay for the ride.

She refused and called police.

The two pleaded not guilty and trial has been adjourned.

“Looks like this sort of crime is on the rise in UAE. I would advice single women as this hostess to stand in a safe place when waiting for a taxi. A safe place implies an area where other people are also present or an area where cover can be taken quickly in a situation like this, i.e. the lobby area of a hotel etc.

Culprits who take advantage should be punished severely or castrated.”
