Beauty therapist was really a man
A Municipality inspector has told how she was given a botched beauty treatment by a female salon worker - who turned out to be a man in women's clothes.
The official described the bizarre events while giving evidence during the trial yesterday of the 42-year-old Filipino.
The defendant, sporting long hair and breasts, appeared at Dubai Court of First Instance charged with cross-dressing, sexual assault and practising medicine illegally.
He denied the charges.
The inspector told how she went to the salon pretending to be a customer after receiving information that staff there were violating regulations by offering laser treatment and botox without the proper permits.
“I went undercover,” she said. “I was taken to a flat equipped with a bed, medical devices and surgical tools.”
The abaya-clad inspector took her clothes off in the treatment room believing that the therapist was a woman. She said: “He was wearing women’s clothing and had manicured nails.”
The inspector added: “He started the treatment and burned me. I felt at lot of heat and called my workmate who was outside who called police.
“When officers arrived we discovered the worker was a man not a woman.”
Prosecutors claim the Filipino had taken hormone tablets to help him look more like he was a woman and had developed B-cup boobs.
“You can’t tell he is a man because he looks like a woman,” an Emirati policeman who attended the scene noted in official records.
The Filipino was charged with sexual assault because the inspector had taken off her clothes during the treatment and he allegedly touched her during the procedure.
He denies all charges against him and the case was adjourned until next month.
