Deadline looms to snap up Dhs100K 'Valetine's Day' date to remember
Why say it with words when you can say it with a wad of cash this Valentine's Day.
Dubai’s wealthy romantics have until midnight to purchase what is being billed as Dubai’s most expensive and exclusive Valentine’s Day experience.
The Dhs100,000 evening of romance starts with a Rolls Royce ride to the Burj Al Arab then a helicopter flight through Dubai’s skies. The lucky lovebirds will enjoy a private dinner on the Executive Terrace at Madinat Jumeirah before an overnight stay “fit for a king and queen” in the Presidential Suite.
Steve Laine, of Jumeirah Group, said: “This could be the most exclusive date ever.”
The dashing date also comes with the terrace decorated in red and white roses especially flown in from the Netherlands, a classic private trio to provide the music and a snapper to capture all the magic moments.
Dubai’s ultimate February 14 experience is available to one lucky pair only. But you’d better move fast, the offer is only available until midnight tonight. Laine, director of food and beverage at Al Qasr Hotel, admits the date is “very pricey” – but insists it’s the exclusivity of it that really matters.
However, 7DAYS readers were not falling so head over heels for the romantic night.
Georgina Enzer-Hennawi wrote on the 7DAYSUAE facebook page: “If someone spent that on me he would be dumped. Nothing says tacky more than spending masses of cash so he can boast to everyone how rich he is.” At the opposite end of Dubai’s Valentine’s Day spectrum, “proper pub” Fibber Magee’s said all it plans for February 14 is giving visiting wives a rose.
Mark Hutton, general manager, admitted: “Any husband who brings their wife in here for dinner would be in trouble!”
