#DriveSafelyUAE campaign trending on Twitter
An online road safety campaign launched by a UAE student is proving a big hit on Twitter.
The campaign - #DriveSafelyUAE – was started earlier this month by Zayed University student Sara Al Balooshi after she witnessed a car crash on her way to college.
Twitter was buzzing with comments about the campaign on Wednesday.

Another Twitter user, Masand, tweeted: “#DriveSafelyUAE So you can go home and see your loved one rather than not see them at all!”
Other tweets by people included one that said: “#DriveSafelyUae speeding might give u pleasure & fun but don't forget it can cause u your life and others life so don't speed” and another by a user called Linda who said: “saying your kids don't want a carseat is no excuse. My car WILL NOT move unless everyone is safely wearing a seatbelt. #DriveSafelyUAE.”

“It's good to know that these students have started a safety awareness for car safety because it is very important to everyone. If people follow the safety rules deaths will decrease by huge number and UAE would be a better place to live in!”

“It's really great that people are spreading around awareness about this issue, though I don't think it would be of much help in the long run. If I had a dirham for every time a speed demon crashed into me because of speeding on the highway and/or crossing a red light I'd be a millionaire by now...”
