Drugs stashed in DVD player
Dubai Police received thanks from their counterparts around the world for helping foil drug traffickers who smuggled 13kg of drugs through the emirate.
Officials at the anti-narcotic department said yesterday that information they had passed on about passengers flying through Dubai International Airport had helped recover hauls of cocaine, heroin and crystal meth and led to the arrest of four people.
The force said the biggest find was on a Kenyan passenger when they discovered he had 8kgs of cocaine worth $360,000 hidden in DVD players. They passed on the information to Kenyan authorities and he was arrested on arrival.
