Dubai company tagging garbage to stop thieves cashing in
A Dubai recycling equipment company has invented an electronic tagging system - for rubbish.
WMS Metal Industries, which has designed and manufactured an award-winning Enviro-waste separator to recycle domestic rubbish, said it had so many requests for an anti-theft device that it has now invented one.
Mostafa Nassar, business development manager of the company, based in JLT, said: “Metal has the highest value of all, followed by plastic and paper. Glass is least demanded for recycling.

Stealing the UAE's rubbish can make thieves a lot of money
“We had a request from a client in Sharjah for an anti-theft system. Anyone can go into the garbage room and steal the contents and sell it on.”
The firm did not release full details of how the device will work, but is seeking a patent for the idea.
