Dumped Ajman boy on the mend
The baby who was found dumped by the roadside with his dead mother just hours after she gave birth is recovering well in hospital.
Last week 7DAYS reported how the baby boy was found by a passerby who heard the infant’s screams behind a health clinic in Ajman.
A doctor from Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Ajman, where the child is being cared for, said the boy was recovering well.

The medic told 7DAYS: “He was very weak and shaking when he arrived at the hospital.
“His skin was also dehydrated and he was very tired. He is now improving.” The hospital said the child has been cared for at the facility since he was brought in a month and a half ago.
Police said the child will stay there while they try to trace his father. Four people have been arrested and face initial charges of causing the woman’s death.
Ajman Police said last week the child had been conceived out of wedlock and two of those arrested were women who had helped deliver the baby at home.
When the mother did not stop bleeding, the women and two men allegedly drove her to a clinic in Dubai to get treatment.
Police say that on the way back to Ajman the mother passed out in the car and the four dumped her at the side of the road along with the screaming infant.
The two women may face further charges of practising medicine without permission. The victim and the four arrested had all been living together. They are all Asian.
