Gardener allegedly ran over man who replaced him

A gardener allegedly ran over another green-fingered worker outside a villa on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah because the man took his job.

The 37-year-old Pakistani defendant appeared before Dubai Court of First Instance today where he denied assaulting the 26-year-old worker.

Official records said the victim was drinking water from a water-cooler in front of the villa owned by an American engineer when he saw the victim speeding towards him in a car.

“He crashed into me. Then I woke up in hospital,” the victim said in official records.

Records shows that the defendant used to work as a gardener at the villa but the victim replaced him.

The case was adjourned.
