Going quackers as 'vicious' ducks are rounded up
I was walking the dog and saw guys in blue overalls picking up big stones and throwing them at the ducks (I think it’s the only lake with ducks).
I told them to stop as it is cruel. They showed me a letter from the developer telling them to catch the ducks. At first they couldn’t tell me why but then a guy on the telephone said that the ducks had bitten children. Ducks do not have teeth! They might snap but the are not a hazard!
Somebody else had just arrived and also called and was told that they were being caught because there was swine flu! They are ducks!

Can somebody give some clarity why these ducks were caught. The developer just passed my number to somebody who would call me and then wished me a fine day?!

“Two years ago 2 ducks appear on the lake in the Lakes. And our lake becomes alive. All mommies and nannies with babies and kids, walking and jogging persons directed their steps to our lake to enjoy the view of the country natural life. We were extremely happy when the ducklings appeared. It was so touching to see how the mother-duck cares about her babies and how they grow up and change their sunny yellow fluff to many colors feathering. It was one and the only alive lake in the Lakes. Herons and flamingos landed here, it was very funny to see how they were walking on their long legs among our 14 (!!!!) ducks. So our lake was the educational and leisure center of the Lakes. And even the point of sightseeing. Seriously, many times I was asked – "Where is the famous Duck's lake?" Starting from today it is the dead ugly place with noisy road and non-stop reconstruction on the one of villas. I really hope that our ducks are now in some zoo or national park, because they are very healthy, brilliantly looking birds. I have seen many "ducky rives and lakes" in other countries, but our ducks were the best. The only my request is to know about their destiny.”

“We live opposite this lake and my son and I visit the ducks every day, until yesterday. We are very upset that the ducks have been taken from their home and for what reasons, biting or swine flu, what a joke. Throwing rocks at the ducks to round them up is animal cruelty what experience did these men have of capturing these ducks? Did they bother to check if there were any eggs or ducklings left behind. Where have the ducks been taken and why have they been taken from their home? We loved these ducks and was so nice to visit them everyday I have no idea how they could be any bother to anyone.”
