Gold iPhone 5 handsets to go on sale in Dubai Mall
Rich trendsetters are expected to flock to Dubai Mall tomorrow to see the official unveiling of the ultimate iPhone 5 - coated in gold.
London-based Gold & Co released the first luxurious
24-carat iPhone 5s coated in yellow and rose gold on Monday, just 72 hours after the new mobile hit the shelves.
And the first chance for the UAE public to see the exclusive phones is tomorrow, at the Collectors’ Palace in Dubai Mall, at 7.30pm.
The yellow gold and black model will cost the discerning gadget-lover Dhs17,000, while the rose gold and white model is Dhs18,500.
After the launch, the phones will go on sale at Gold & Co’s authorised dealers, such as Damas in the Middle East, Evolve Lifestyle Group in India and the G&C London office in Hong Kong.
Each custom-made phone is individually numbered and comes in a hand-crafted wooden box with a certificate of authenticity.
The company was the first in the world to offer the iPad 2 and iPad 3 in 24-carat gold. Amjad Ali, the firm’s CEO, said: “The iPhone 5 is an extraordinary piece of technology and we are delighted to bring yet another 24-carat gold, and our first rose gold, offering to our loyal customers.”
