A nation-wide drive to raise awareness about illegal immigration has been launched in the UAE.

The campaign – under the slogan ‘No To Violators’ was unveiled in Abu Dhabi this week, national news agency WAM reported.

The initiative is being run by the Ministry of Interior and aims to encourage UAE nationals and residents to help the authorities track down residence law violators and infiltrators.

“The campaign is part of an ongoing effort to arrest violators of immigration and residency laws in country,” said Major General Naser Al Menhali, Assistant Under Secretary for Naturalisation, Residence and Ports at the Ministry of Interior.

He added that immigration officers will carry out inspections in various area across the country to crack down on the violators.

People have been warned against employing or harbouring

illegal residents in their homes.
