Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar set for role in crime caper
Sachin Tendulkar is used to starring in front of the cameras.
But next time it will be without a bat - he is poised to appear in a Bollywood film about someone trying to
steal his car.
According to reports in India, Sachin has agreed to allow filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra to use his name in the forthcoming movie ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’.
And it is believed that he will have a cameo as well.
Chopra has remained tight-lipped, but said he was delighted to be able use Sachin’s name in the film.
“There is a mention of him in the film. We are happy
that we got to use his name in the film,” he was quoted
But when pressed about whether Sachin (pictured) will have a cameo, he replied: “For that you will have to see the film. I can’t say about it now. I would love everyone to watch the film.”
‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’, due for release in India in June, follows the story of a young child, his father (Sharman Joshi) and grandfather (Boman Irani).
The child dreams of one day playing professional cricket, just like Sachin, 39, who has made 100 Test centuries. The story, though, takes a twist when
his father is told to steal Sachin’s Ferrari.
Meanwhile, Sachin is facing another new role after President Pratibha Patil approved his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, India’s upper house of Parliament.
