The new Maharani abaya collection from Lamya Abedin’s Queen of Spades label is now in store.

The designs are inspired by her love for Indian culture and traditions. From the fabrics to the cuts and the colours of the abayas, Abedin says she wanted to pay tribute to the Indian festival of Holi.

“I felt it would be unkind to choose a specific tone, therefore I used all the colours used in the Indian traditional Festival of Colour.

The festival marks the abundance of the upcoming spring harvest season. I played with the prints by mixing together vibrant and abstract pieces and adding all sorts of colour hues blending in fuchsia, yellow, green, and purple as well as many other shades, and crafted a very colourful collection.”

Find Queen of Spades at Galleries Lafayette, Dubai Mall.

If it’s Asian-inspired jewellery you’re after, check out the new pieces by Agatha Paris (various UAE malls). The ‘On the Road to India’ collection focuses on various regions across the country.
