Jewellery worker jailed for 'lunchbox theft'
A jewellery company worker who stole Dhs4 million of gold fillings by smuggling them off his company premises in his lunchbox has been jailed for six months.
The 33-year-old Filipino was handed the sentence by Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday after it had heard he smuggled out 30kg of the precious metal over two months.
The Filipino was caught by cops when the owner of a jewellery shop called cops when he tried to sell the gold to him.

“Its too shameful of what he did as a Filipino.. If he is in a financial crisis then better he borrowed money from any of his friends or take a loan rather than robbing things that its not yours. He is still lucky enough because the Dubai Court sentence him only 6 months. i hope this incident he will learn a lesson from his mistake.”
