Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool part company
A person familiar with the decision says Kenny Dalglish has left as Liverpool manager after guiding the team to a disappointing eighth place in the English Premier League.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision has not yet been made public.
Dalglish, who had been one season into a three-year contract, led Liverpool to its first trophy in six years with the League Cup and took the team to the FA Cup final, but fell short of the owner's target of finishing in the top four of the Premier League.

After a tumultuous reign at Anfield, Kenny Dalglish has left Liverpool
Dalglish is still the last manager to guide Liverpool to the English league title.
He returned for a second spell when the club fired Roy Hodgson in January 2011 and signed a permanent contract 12 months ago.
Liverpool finished 17 points behind fourth-place Tottenham.
