A few months ago we took a call here @ Positive Paws from a concerned dog lover regarding a dog she had met wandering Al Wasl Road. Assuming the dog was lost, she managed to track down the home she belonged to. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances the dog was no longer "wanted" by the family and asked her assistance with finding her a new home.

We arranged for the Dalmatian to come to our facility to meet the staff, and assess her suitability for rehoming. After a somewhat stressful car journey, clearing not a common occurence for her, she arrived;

  1. Lulu

    Lulu

YELLOW with black spots

Overweight

Withdrawn and very nervous of human contact

Her full history is unknown other than she had been living outside in a pen within a garden with very little human contact and it was in actual fact her 2nd home and had also spent time in Dubai Municipality previously.

Approximately 2 years old and has had at least one litter of pups. The decision was made to take her to the vet for a health check and to vaccinate her in order to introduce her to another dog.  Upon vaccination we introduced her to my male German Shepherd, which resulted in a rather excited, wiggly bottom, wagging tail Dalmatian.

It was one of those moments, that would bring tears to the hardest of eyes - tears of happiness! And Lulu became her name.

Over the next few days, she slept like she'd obviously never slept before, ate a well balanced diet, started playing with the staff and enjoying cuddle times.

Two months on, she is an absolute STAR!  Shares her time between Positive Paws and my home with our GSD.  Lulu greets all the clients (dogs & people) like they are her best friend, loves to chill out in reception, play in daycare, assists with the introductions of new dogs and is particularly sensitive to the needs of the most sensitive dogs.

Her coat is now WHITE with black spots, her bottom wiggles ALL day with happiness and she has even managed to shed a few kilos too.  Everday she shows me how happy she is in her new life......

Well done Lulu - our social butterfly and new permanent addition to the team!
