Man hired axe murderer for Dhs5,000 to kill brother
A man paid a friend Dhs5,000 to kill his step-brother because he didn't like him, Sharjah Police has said.
Officers said the hired hitman used an axe on the victim and struck him on the head.
In a statement, Sharjah Police said they had arrested the step-brother and his friend for the murder.
The step-brother told police that he often fought with his sibling and planned to kill him out of hatred.
Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Al Dukhan, deputy director of Sharjah Police, said the victim’s body was found in Industrial Area 3 in Sharjah in a tyre warehouse.
“He was covered in tyres and his head had been smashed in,” Dukhan said.
After investigations, police arrested the 29-year-old step-brother and his 23-year-old friend, who was trying to leave the country.
The alleged killer told Sharjah Police that he was desperate for money and had offered to carry out the murder for Dhs5,000.
“The pair bought an axe and sharpened it well,” Al Dukhan said.
“They hid it inside a car belonging to one of them until one night after midnight the killer struck and hit the victim twice on the head with the axe as the man was washing his clothes in the warehouse.”
He added: “The step-brother watched the attack.”
Police said that the step-brother showed no remorse for his actions.
The men, who are both from Afghanistan, have been referred to public prosecution to finish the investigation.
