Man strangles sex worker to death over money dispute
A man has gone on trial accused of strangling a prostitute to death in an abandoned home.
Dubai Court of First Instance heard how the Bangladeshi allegedly used they woman’s scarf to kill her after they had a dispute over Dhs100.
Official records said the woman’s body lay undiscovered in the empty house for six months until her skeleton was found by an inspector from the municipality who had gone to check the building before it was to be demolished.
The inspector called cops after making the grim discovery.
Police investigations found that the 27-year-old Bangladeshi was the last person to be seen with the woman.
"We arrested him. At first he denied any involvement but then he confessed he knew she was a prostitute and they had gone to the house to have sex. He said that after they finished he gave her Dhs50 but she demanded Dhs100," an Emirati policeman said in official records.
"He claims she insisted she wanted more money and threatened to have him beaten up so he strangled her to death with her own scarf.”
In court he denied the charge and the case was adjourned.
