Mystery over how cat died across town
I am hoping your readers can help me solve a sad and puzzling situation. Our pet cat, reared by bottle by my son, went missing five days ago.
We looked everywhere for her as she never went far from home, always in the company of her brother.
We received a phone call from the vets yesterday telling us someone had brought our cat in and they had identified our name and number from her microchip. She was unfortunately dead.

The vet said she had died in the last 24 hours.
The puzzle is the vet is in The Ranches and we live in Umm Sequim 1. How did she get to The Ranches and what happened to her in the three days between her disappearance and being found on the side of the road near The Palmera estate in Ranches?
While we are very sad we are also very suspicious as to what has happened and would welcome any thoughts.

“You mentioned that she never went far from home. You might gather from this that I don't keep cats, but if you have a pet that you let out on its own then you literally open the door to the cat going missing.
Yes it appears there was foul play but once again I refer to the fact that you let it out. Are there any other pets that people allow to leave their vacinity? and subsequent to this would be surprised to learn they had gone missing?”

“I agree with Gavtek....don't even think about HOW she died. In my opinion as a cat lover, if you really do love your cat, don't let it outside. Cats are indoor creatures. Best you learn from your mistake.”

“Is she friendly. If so, it sounds to me as if it was the result of the game some of the charming morons of this place play. I saw 2 dead in one day last week, both in areas of the road where they are unable to get out on either side. I hope this is not the case for your cat.”

“This is the time of year that cats climb up in engine compartments to get warm. Last year this time I found a kitten badly injured near my building...never seen before that.”

“I had a kitten once climb in under my cars bonnet, and i didn't realize it until i reached work and parked that i heard a sound. Fortunately it survived the journey, but it took me 30 minutes to shoo it away as it was scared and confused and the car was hot!
That could explain the journey for your cat,”
