Plane unusual sight as I was driving to work...
I was driving to my work today at 7:20am along the flyover passing by Dubai Mall towards Jumeirah and I swear I saw a big aeroplane, as big as a passengers plane, coming from the opposite direction.
It kept flying nearer and nearer to Burj Khalifa, its body was red and blue colours with thick white lines in between.
I couldn’t believe my eyes, it was flying at three quarters the height of the Burj. I can imagine how people at the top must have felt looking out their windows to find a plane just below!
-

When the plane disappeared behind the Burj. I held my breath, then it appeared again from behind the Burj, those moments were really frightening. I would love to know if anyone else saw this as I did.
I have never lived in a skyscraper before but I was wondering if it was normal for people living there to be sitting having breakfast and looking out to see planes flying around their buildings. How can this happen, is it not dangerous in any way?

“Gavtek is right. It is a planned departure route as a) the aircraft is 'heavy' b) a different routing outbound to avoid inbound traffic c) left heading to India and Far East d) a chance to wave to all those tourists !!! Well not quite... but anyway it sounds like Oman Air scheduled 737-800 to Muscat.”

“Your eyes were playing tricks on you, it's a regular flight path for planes departing DXB towards the sea but are going to India or the Far East. They often look like they're going to slam into the side ofthe Burj but they're never that close.”
