Probe into UAE security threat has started
INVESTIGATIONS are underway into a foreign-linked group who are suspected of threatening security in the UAE, the attorney general said.
National news agency WAM reported yesterday that the suspects are still in custody and the public prosecution's interrogation of the members has begun.
Ali Salim Al Tenaiji, the attorney general at the federal prosecutor general's office, said: "Initial investigations and confessions of the suspects revealed plans which jeopardise the security of the state, as well as ties between the organisation's members and suspicious foreign parties and organisations."
The attorney general stressed that results of the investigations will be made public once they are completed.
Last month authorities revealed a suspected terrorist cell had been busted. It has not been disclosed how many people have been held.
