Rapper Wiz Khalifa ready to collaborate with 50 Cent
One of America's hottest names hits town this weekend when Wiz Khalifa takes to the stage at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
The ‘Black and Yellow’ rapper is headlining the show, with English ‘Pass Out’ sensation Tinie Tempah and French house DJ David Vendetta completing a cosmopolitan and eclectic line-up.
Wiz is the man of the moment stateside.
Earlier this week he was named ‘Best New Artist’ at the prestigious Billboard Music Awards show, held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Although he had already released two independent albums, the award honoured the success of last year’s major-label debut ‘Rolling Papers’.
A collaboration with rap heavyweight 50 Cent is now on the cards too, after the Dubai-bound rapper got in touch with the G-Unit CEO on Twitter.
‘Fiddy’, just released from hospital after complaining of stomach pains, explained to MTV News: “While I was sitting in the hospital, I saw Wiz Khalifa send a tweet out saying he got something and he felt like it would be cool if I was actually on a record with him.
“So I responded to him and I told him ‘let’s work’.
“I’m feeling good, I was feeling better by the time that tweet went through, so I said ‘send it’ and I’ll speak to him a little later on.
“Stay tuned to hear what happens next because it’s gonna go down.”
Wiz Khalifa plays Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Friday from 7pm. Tickets start at Dhs295, with no age restrictions. www.luxury-concerts.com
