Sex attacker who made facebook threat is locked up

A rapist has been jailed for seven years after carrying out a brutal attack on a woman and then threatening to publish indecent photos of her on social networking site facebook.

Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court issued the sentence after hearing how the defendant took the photos of the victim on his mobile phone while she was half-naked. He also stole her underwear.

He threatened to post the photos if she told police what he had done.

The man had earlier denied the charges, claiming the sex was consensual.

During investigations police seized the defendant’s mobile phone, which contained the indecent photos.

Officers also found clothes belonging to the woman in the defendant’s possession.

The judge ordered that the Arab defendant be deported after serving his sentence.
