Stop pouting and be a bit more polite please
I was recently on vacation back home and couldn’t believe how friendly and down-to-earth people were, despite my country going through some severe financial worries.
People acknowledging strangers in the street when they walk past, opening doors for people, giving the right of way to pedestrians, allowing other motorists to pull out into the traffic - very refreshing.
Then I came back here and it’s soooo different. Why does everybody take themselves so seriously here? I see worse pouts on show than Victoria Beckham - and that’s just from the men.

Nobody wants to give and inch, let alone allow another motorist to get in front of them in a traffic queue. Why are so many people like this, why do mentalities change when we move to the sand?
If we all took a step back and just became ourselves again this would be a better place.

“Reminds of my colleague who didn't give way to a big 4x4. When they got to the signal, the guy got out and knocked on her window asking why she didn't give way. It happened twice. I wonder what would happen if the the 4x4s are the ones not giving way. Are people allowed to knock on their doors too? Or shall they be fined for doing so? Just curious.”

“The lack of consideration on the roads here is very disturbing. If drivers looked after one another a bit more, maybe we wouldn't have one of the highest road death rates in the world and fewer families would have to deal with the pain of losing their loved ones.”

“True, it is amazing sometimes when 'back home' and people here moan and moan but cars will stop at crossings, they will give way it's not the constant battle for space and to call up customer service of some kind they actually make suggestions to you ... yes, actual suggestions and alternatives of things that may benefit you rather than you having to ask 100 questions to work out all the variables!”
