Stumped by the actions of tree-felling neighbours
We have resided in Dubai for more than a quarter of a century.
We’ve witnessed many things good and bad during that time but are content now to sit in our beautiful, private garden on a Friday without a care in the world.
Until this morning that is, when new neighbours at the back of us decided to set unsupervised workmen to work on chopping down a beautiful, mature eucalyptus tree from

their garden. My husband was happily reading his newspaper until he decided to come in for a coffee. Two minutes later, the huge tree fell into our garden, destroying many beautiful mature plants and flowers, not to mention the seat my husband had been sitting
in just moments before.
At the very least I would have expected a call from these neighbours to advise us of their intentions and that Friday was going to be disrupted by what they were about to do.
It seems that good neighbours and good manners have gone the same way, disappearing into the mists of time.

“The main problem is not about the neighbour neglecting to reveal his intentions. It is about the garden maintenance company sending untrained workmen to perform a job which they are not properly trained for. Luckily the outcome was not as fatal as it could have been.”

“Yet another story to be added to the "I don't care attitude that prevails in Dubai.”
