Tea-rrific green cure for diabetes

An award-winning doctor who researches traditional Chinese medicine claims he was cured of diabetes after drinking a special green tea.

Dr Mehrab Dashtdar, who has had type 2 diabetes for six years says he has fully recovered.

The Iranian GP and acupuncturist, who practices at the Medwin Medical Centre, Jumeirah, said: “I consumed Yilouhe Chinese Green Herbal Tea for three months and began to feel the difference. My blood sugar count showed a significant drop so I continued drinking the tea and after eight months I saw a remarkable improvement.”

Dashtdar, 51, has won awards for research into traditional Chinese medicine and has written several books on the subject. He came across the Yilouhe tea during a three-year research study he co-authored that focused on using herbal medicines in conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hepatitis B, infertility and rheumatoid arthritis.

The study found that combining clinical health care with effective complementary therapies has impressive effects. Dashtdar added: “Even though I am now free of my diabetic condition I continue to drink the tea daily because I find it fortifies my immunity and strengthens my memory.”

Yilouhe Chinese Green Herbal Tea is a mix of natural ingredients such as fenugreek, bitter melon and bee glue.

The World Health Organisation has estimated that at least 19.6 per cent of people in the UAE have diabetes.
