Ticketing system stuck in the dark ages...
Am I the only one who finds the ticketing systems for events in the UAE is ridiculous?
I had bought one of those deals on a coupon website to go to a waterpark but instead of just printing out the confirmation that was sent to me and heading off for a day of fun, I had to go all the way to Knowledge Village in Dubai to show the confirmation and pick up tickets for the waterpark.
What’s the sense in that? I live in Downtown and by the time I’d paid for a cab to get there and back I’d actually paid more for the waterpark ticket than if I’d just shown up and paid at the gate.

Then the following day I went to Cirque du Soleil. Having booked the tickets online and received ticket confirmation numbers on email I was astonished to find that I would have to queue at the venue to then have e-tickets printed.
What a waste of time and paper. Surely there must be a better way for ticketing systems to work where it doesn’t cost the customer time and money just to get entry to the event or attraction they have paid for.

“I had 2 incidents. The first one was 4 tickets to go the water park in RAK, I had to pick the tickets from a jewelery shop in Mercato Mall. And the second incident was discounted sandwiches from a Lebanese restaurant. When I reached to the restaurant, I discovered that the selling price matches the coupon price. The restaurant owner told me the coupon company made a mistake in the web ad!”

“All of these coupon website deals are nonsense. Don't bother with them. Even if you do save a few dirhams, you get lumbered with restrictions and it is rarely worth it. Avoid.”

“They used to be good when they were part of the US company, however since its gone a different way it really has gone downhill. I purchased a removals package which ended up in a total fiasco with them breaking furniture and goodness knows what else, when i tried to talk with the voucher company they just ignored me. If you are going to offer cowboy companies on your special deals then vet them first. The rest of its just 2o aed of a burger now, pointless!”
