Dubai Police have arrested three men after finding a stash of illegal painkillers hidden in a spare tyre.

The head of anti-narcotics, General Abdul Jalil Mahdi, said they receieved information on August 16 that a gang of suspects were in possession of a large amount of Tramadol.

Dubai Police have arrested three men after finding a stash of illegal painkillers hidden in a spare tyre.

“He and other two Emiratis were looking to sell Tramadol to young Emiratis during Eid.”

Police launched an investigation and tracked down one of the suspects. They later arrested the other men in a car.

“The car was in front of the man’s house at 1am, and we arrested them. They had hidden the pills in the spare tyre thinking it’s a safe place,” Mahdi said.

He added medical tests showed the suspects had drugs in their system.

They have been referred to Dubai Public Prosecution.

Dubai Police urged anyone with information about drug dealing to call the toll-free number 800 400 400 or email dpan@dubaipolice.gov.ae

“Are you KIDDING me! Now these are the idiots that are making it impossible for people to get proper pain medication in this country.
I have never in my life heard of anybody that is post surgery to be sent home with Panadol. Reading this makes me as mad as two spitting snakes. There are thousands of people here that NEED PROPER pain killers (NOT Panadol) for PAIN RELIEF. I have used Tramadol before in my home country. Never did I even consider "getting high" on the stuff. It is PAIN medication for acute PAIN you idiots and yes very addictive at that as with any medical drug that you take including Panadol. If you take enough Panadol you can also get "a high" depending on how your system tolerates it. So next time you morons want to get "drugs" into the country please consider that it may be YOU or one of your family members that is in need of proper PAIN RELIEF and how you are depriving them of that for your own gain. Goes to show the immaturity of some people with too much time on their hands to think of things like this. Guy grow up for goodness sake and go out and get a job.”
