Treat your maids like a family member
I began my day reading the disturbing news of the maid accused of killing her boss' child and it got me thinking: How do people go about hiring a maid? Are people treating the maids well?
For parents it’s alright to have a maid but one thing I learned from experience is a maid should always be given a right and space to talk! Freedom of expression. She should be allowed to complain. A person you entrust with responsibility over your child, the elderly and food should be treated as a family member. If we take such little things into account most of these nanny problems won’t be heard of.
Whatever the frustration of this maid was I am sure this has haunted her for a long time. If only the employers take time to talk to them you will be surprised at what you will hear and how much damage you can prevent by just letting people speak.
You don’t have to add them to your family portraits but that mutual communication with the ground levelled will surely help.
