Underage drinking in Dubai...
We have just come back from a music event.
My partner and I are over 21 so we both got a wristband at the entrance to say we are over that age and are able to buy alcohol, we were however astonished to see the number of children that had same wristband as we did, & when we say children we mean those that clearly could never pass for an 18 yr old, nevermind 21!!...these kids were 13-15 max...(whatever their fake id may say).
We let a manager know and she showed us a handful of over 21 wristbands that she had confiscated & also told us that they had a big problem.
These drunken kids...which is the kindest way to describe them, were unruly, loud & in general a nuisance. Jumping over railing's & using foul language.
Unfortunately there was little or no security & what there was wouldn't be able to control any kind of trouble that may have arisen.
Having been to many very well run events in Dubai recently, the Dubai World Cup & Boat show to name just a couple, we were very disappointed with this music event, as there were many other things wrong with the evening & venue apart from the unruly kids..... Having fire escapes locked and chained up to name just one.
