Universal American School Flashmob at DFC
The flash mob that our staff and students from the Universal
American School in Dubai performed Wedensday June 6th concluded a year long campaign that the Fine Arts Booster Club at the Universal American School has been leading: THE BE CAMPAIGN
At UAS, parents and teachers called to the community to simply "BE". Inspired by the regional aspirations to self determination and by Dubai, the city around us that declared "WE ARE!" to the rest of the modern world, we also chose to stand up to inaction and passivity.
We chose to BE the ones to call for Creative Action. To BE the best. To BE honest, helpful, innovative, active, caring, responsible, aware... We chose to BE the voice of positive and creative change. This performance, which is prepared by teachers and moms working together, and performed
by our students dancing side by side with the support staff and other teachers is what the BE campaign has been striving for all along: Joining all layers of our school community to work together to take "positive creative action". Thanks to dance instructor/choreographer Susanne Liiri, all the positive messages on our campus mural wall (the first project associated with this campaign) came alive at DFC
on Wednesday night to take our BE campaign mission beyond our school walls and into Festival City!
