Three car incident holds up commuters on Sheikh Zayed Road
Motorists faced huge traffic jams on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road when three cars were involved in an accident this morning.
Deputy director of Dubai Traffic Police, Colonel Said Muhair Al Mazrouey, said they received a call at 5.30am informing the force of the accident on the stretch of road heading to Abu Dhabi near the nine bridge.
“The crash happened when a Pakistani pick-up driver hit a 4x4 vehicle from behind before smashing into another vehicle. The accident was due to speeding. The Pakistani motorist was seriously injured and airlifted to Rashid Hospital.” he said.

“Speed kills, why can't everyone understand that. And class has nothing to do with it. DRIVE SAFELY, remember someone is waiting for you.”

“@Yamna: agree with you about creating awareness but also to people who make remarks about class. Many of the accidents are due to high-class individuals with their pricey autos.”

“Was feeling relieved to know the other day about reduction in Dubai road accidents as compared to the same period last year. Analysis of road carnage always leads to conclusions which are baseless and unjustifiable. Time for break-neck steps to be implemented by the traffic authorities before more necks are sacrificed....”

“Hope everyone gets well soon and is safe!
But there definitely needs to be more awareness for the consequences of rash driving amongst the youth and lower class individuals.”
