Get off the phone and look where you're going
I just came out of Town Centre, Meadows and would like to acknowledge the woman in a bronze SUV who practically killed me.
I was in the middle if the Pedestrian crossing, on a bike (hard to miss), when she came around the roundabout with a phone in one hand, a cigarette in the other hand - which she was also using to steer the car - straight over the crossing and, despite me being only feet from her car she didn’t seem to notice me.
There is a school and nursery right next to this area! I find this kind of behaviour very worrying.

“Oh goodness me. Yet another letter in 7days about an individual person driving poorly or doing something. I honestly don't know what the point is.
Is 7days just for venting frustrations then. Is it a coffee morning? No one stopped for me at the zebra crossing the other day!! aaaahhh, 7days, help me, let me bring it to your attention! :/”

“I was going out for a run on Thursday last week and a car at the signal decided to stop...because the lights were red...the individual in the car behind was texting and was far to close to the car in front and didn't see it stop. Thank Goodness the lane next to him was open (although marked with red deacons as they are working on the road) the guy had to swerve and he lost control of his car and he came flying at me...thank GOD, that he was able to take control of his car and speed off, because he was so close to hitting me and I had already jumped 2 feet over onto the inner curb!!! Every 2nd car I see whilst running is either on their phone or texting oh and speeding...way to go guys! Keep up the good work!”
